There are so many aspects to consider when insuring your home like property damage due to; theft, flood and fire that the options can be confusing and costly. Let us help you navigate these waters by searching for the best coverage and rates offered by over 40 of this country’s recognized carriers.
We have the latest tools to better value your property. This helps ensure you select the proper amount of insurance for your home, enough to rebuild it at today’s rates if it were destroyed. Too many consumers tend to underinsure their homes because they don’t have access to the best information.
Replacement Cost Coverage that pays up to 125% of your policy limits is what we would recommend. Replacement Cost Contents Coverage that pays for contents of your home, regardless of depreciation is key to getting you quickly back to your life. Identity Theft Protection that pays for expenses incurred to regain your identity which includes identity restoration services is something to consider too.
Add it on
If you own expensive items or have a sump pump in your home, you may need extra coverage on your policy to ensure that your home is better protected. Here is coverage (called a rider or endorsement) you can add to your homeowners policy:
Sewer and drain backup
This covers damage caused by water backup from drains, sewers or sump pumps.
Jewelry, antiques, firearms
Expensive items need additional coverage. You may want to get them appraised for their value.
Home-based business
If you have a home business, this ensures your business items are better protected.

Here are some tips that help our clients keep their premiums in check:
Review your deductible
By raising your deductible, you could save on your premium. Your deductible is the amount you are required to pay toward costs to repair covered damage to your home. If you can afford to raise your deductible by even $500, you could save on your home premiums. Keep in mind that you may have different deductibles for things like wind, hail or other types of losses. We can help you determine how much you might be able to save by adjusting your deductibles.
Review coverage
Meet with us each year to discuss your policy limits and coverage. Some “valuable items” such as fur coats and other belongings may depreciate from year to year. In these cases, you may be able to adjust coverage accordingly and save on premiums.
Improve home security
By installing fire and burglary protection systems, you may earn a discount on your premium – and keep your home and family safe. The cost to install protective systems may be worth the initial investment because the discounts will continue to apply each year your policy is renewed.
Home upgrades
If your home is located in an area prone to hurricanes or other disasters, you may be able to save on premiums by installing storm shutters, upgrading your roof or performing other “risk-mitigation” updates. These types of upgrades can help protect your home against damage, which can result in a lower premium.
